Take the Tour of Morristown!

About Morris Plains

Morris Plains, NJ is an intimate bedroom community with easy access to New York City. The Morristown line of New Jersey Transit provides commuters with direct access to New York Penn Station and to Hoboken Terminal.

Morris Plains is known as the “community of caring”. I know – it’s hard to believe! When I moved here five years ago and heard this I rolled my eyes too! I was determined to show the world that Morris Plains was, indeed, an imposter! With my tail between my legs, I have to confess, I couldn’t expose any hypocrisy. This town is truly a throwback to the 1950s – we really do care about each other!

Morris Plains is 2.6 sq miles and has a population of roughly 5500 people. It is very family oriented with every recreational sport and activity you can imagine. Children can become involved in softball, baseball, basketball, soccer and monthly “teen center”. We have a very active senior citizen club, adult book club, exercise classes, knitting, and a variety of other offerings. There is a community pool that hosts town parties. We have a town Easter egg hunt, Halloween bon fire with Smores, Fall block parties, very active group of cornhole enthusiasts, poker gatherings, and our local get-togethers at Collins and Arthurs!

Mountain Way elementary school hosts our children from K through 2nd grade. Borough school takes over from 3rd through 8th grade. For high school, our children leave the nurturing environment of Morris Plains and funnel into Morristown High School together with Morris Township and Morristown.

I would be happy to meet with you if you have an interest in our town. Please feel free to peruse my web site and call me with any questions you may have. I would be happy to give you a tour and let you feel the friendliness of Morris Plains.
